2 questions!
« on: November 04, 2014, 06:10:59 AM »
Use an Arrhenius plot to determine frequency factor for the reaction
     I have a question,
The following data show the rate constant of a reaction measured at several different temperatures.
Temperature (K) Rate Constant (1/s)
300 0.138
310 0.396
320 1.06
330 2.69
340 6.44
And I found the Ea=81.5
However, when ever I try to find the frequency factor, or A, I just a different number for the different set of numbers I plug in??
What am I doing wrong?

And
Consider the reaction: 8H2S(g)+4O2(g)→8H2O(g)+S8(g) Δ[H2S]/Δt = -0.073M/s
Δ[O2]/Δt = −3.7×10−2 Ms
Δ[H2O]/Δt = 7.3×10−2 Ms
Find Δ[S8]/Δt
Find the rate of the reaction.

I agree with your Ea, but I get a constant A value. Can you show us your working?
