Ag+ mass? Solubility
« on: January 18, 2015, 06:04:50 PM »
Hello, I have a problem related to solubilities.

The solubility of Ag2CrO4 is 2,5 x 10 ^ (-2) g/L    (25 ÂșC).

Ag+ mass in the solution if:

- To 100 mL of Ag+, add solid CrO4 2- (Without volume variation) until the concentration of CrO4 2- is 0,020 mol/L.

I tried using IVE (Initial, Variation, Equilibrium concentrations) but that didn`t worked. Any ideas?

My result was 0,43 g of Ag+. I think it`s incorrect, it`s a very small value.

Actually 0.43 g is several orders of magnitude too large.

Hint: you should use the solubility data to find the solubility product.

You were right, it is a large number xD

I have managed to solve the problem with the aid of my cousin. Thank you!
