HOLA!!!

29 year old active duty USAF here (30 in September).   Located in Japan, and joined the forums to be around people who knew their chemistry.  I'm studying general chem right now, but I hope to get a degree in Chemistry by the time I leave the service.  Not sure what I would do with it, but I just feel like I have to know it.  When I was an 18yr old in college I could have cared less.  I sometimes look back and regret those choices, but I love what I do now.  I know I won't be in forever so I'm hoping to get back on track with school.  I'm 3 credits away from my CCAF associates (Community College of the Air Force) so I think I'm doing ok so far.

Right now I plan on studying organic chem on my own until I get back to the states to take a class (if there isn't one online).  Is 12 months realistic when it comes to studying organic chem?
