iIncomprehensible Strange Mechanism
« on: March 16, 2015, 05:47:22 PM »
While studding my notes i came with this reaction, but the teacher didn't gave us the mechanism... and i cant figure it out...
Plus I checked my book (Organic Chemistry - David Klein) and there's no "McMurry Reaction".
Does anybody knows whats happening? and explain it to me? (please)

Can you use the example from the Wikipedia page to draw the possible intermediate for your reaction?  Note: you're using a stronger reducing agent than the Wikipedia example, you may get different intermediates.
Hey, I'm not judging.  I just like to shoot straight.  I'm a man of science.
