Hi I'm having trouble with this question on my assignment. According to my notes I should be doing

0.238 moles divided by 0.0526000 litres (52.6ml) and the answer I get is 4.52471482989.

Would this be correct, and if it's not could someone point me in the right direction? Thankyou

No. Do you know for what M stands for?

M stands for the molarity and its unit is mole/l. The letter for moles is n, which unit only mol is.

With this knowledge you can calculate now .

Does this mean I calculate 0.238 (concentration) x 0.0526 (volume) = 0.0125 moles?

Yes exactly.

Sorry again my next question is:
How many moles of NO3- ions are present in 215 mL of a 0.56 M Al(NO3)3 solution.

Does this follow the same formula? 0.56 x 0.0215 = 0.01204 moles?

Genereally yes, you have to use this formula, but you have to consider how many moles Nitrate correspond to Aluminium nitrate. What does the small 3 tell us. And how many liter is 215 ml. 0.0215 l is wrong.
