Significant Figures Question
« on: September 10, 2015, 02:57:52 AM »
So my problem asked me to round 2.083 to two significant figures.  Well, 3 is less than 5, so I round down to 2.08.  My answer came back wrong.  It was supposed to be 2.1

How is that possible, could someone please explain what my misunderstanding is?

2.08 is three significant figures. Why do you think it is two?
