Predicting Products
« on: April 25, 2006, 05:50:33 PM »
I have to write the formula to show reactants and products for the following:

Solutions of tin(II) chloride and iron(III) chloride are mixed.

I can't seem to predict the products. All I got was up to:

Sn+2 + Cl- + Fe+3 + Cl----> ??

Can someone explain to me how to get the products and what type of reaction this is? Thank you.

Redox. Check half reaction potentials for Fe2+/Fe3+ and Sn2+/Sn4+.
