Who was that famous scientist who took students' notebooks and by using a torch could tell whether the students had learnt or not?

What would be the logic behind this application?  If they cried onto the pages, then they learned?

You can look up the flame test, you may find a reason why this test isn't a very good one.
Hey, I'm not judging.  I just like to shoot straight.  I'm a man of science.

People sweat and sweat stay on the paper. If you use the flame test, you can determine Na+ ions. It is important, you can't ruin students' notebook. This test is not very good and don't work all the time.
