Swagelok fittings & Lead Tubing
« on: October 19, 2015, 04:23:41 AM »
Do Swagelok fittings work with lead tubing?

One of our setups needs a length of 1/2 inch lead tubing that will be used as a flow reactor. The feed etc. is from a dosing pump and was wondering if standard Swagelok fittings would be a good way to join the pump etc to the piping.

The pressures will be low. Not exceeding 5 atm.

Shouldn't be a problem with lead, but when we mate softer tubing like PTFE to our systems we use brass ferrules instead of the stainless steel ones.
Chemists do it periodically on table.
