Nitrobenzaldehyde replacement
« on: December 02, 2015, 05:54:31 PM »
Hello all,
I am synthesizing indigo for a project in school, and I need ortho-nitrobenzaldehyde in order to create the raw indigo. However, I don't have ready access to that chemical. Are there any chemicals that could be used in place of it to yield a similar result, or should I just bite the bullet and try to find a way to get a hold of some? Thanks!
Danny

Are you trying to follow a literature prep?
When in doubt, avoid the Stille coupling.

Hi, yes I am -- however, I found access to nitrobenzaldehyde, so it's not an issue anymore. Thanks for the response!
