Reduction of Synthetic Indigo
« on: December 09, 2015, 03:44:20 PM »
Hello all!
I'm trying to reduce synthetic indigo for a lab investigation, but I don't have access to sodium dithionite or thiourea dioxide, the only two chemicals that are confirmed to work in the setting. I'm assuming that there is a vast number of compounds that can reduce indigo, but the chemistry to determine that goes WAY over my head. If anyone could think of a chemical that reduces indigo or that could be easily synthesized with common chemicals, I'd love the input. Thanks,
Danny
