I am researching a question given by my Zoology professor...How does the absorption of heat in an anabolic chemical reaction NOT violate the 2nd Law of Thermodynamics? Can anyone help me with this?

Because it`s the synthesis of larger molecules from smaller ones consuming more energy than produced?
The energy releasing reactions, drive the energy absorbing reactions ?
