Will it work? (Glow Stick)
« on: March 22, 2016, 08:10:23 PM »
Hi  :)
Over spring break I have to do a chemistry project involving glow sticks. As a part of my project I want to make my own glow sticks. I've found useful videos online on how to do this, however they all seem to involve chemicals that are some what too expensive or hard to get. For example TCPO,  Diethyl Phthalate, and florescent dyes.
Luckily I found anther website which calls for much easier to get chemicals. The recipe involves hydrogen peroxide, sodium carbonate, copper(II) sulfate, powder, and luminol. There is no video proving that this will work, what are your opinions on this recipe?

Thanks- Alex

If you can get luminol, you can get light:https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Luminol
Hey, I'm not judging.  I just like to shoot straight.  I'm a man of science.
