(Incomplete) Enthalpies of Combustion
« on: April 18, 2016, 07:03:52 AM »
Hello all,

Just wondering if anyone is aware of the molar heats of INCOMPLETE combustion for pentane, hexane, octane, pentan-1-ol, hexan-1-ol and octan-1-ol.

Thank you in advance.

A bit of a vague question, how incomplete is incomplete? For example is 5C  :rarrow: CO + 4CO2 incomplete enough? Or how about 5C  :rarrow: C + 3CO + CO2, or ..?

There's a lot of products formed from incomplete combustion, so I don't think there are any reliable data on it.

However, it must be lower than that of complete combustion.
