Reaction of 4-aminoantipyrine with 4-hydroxybenzoic acid
« on: April 24, 2016, 11:11:58 AM »
Hi, I'm in the process of writing my thesis, and as a molecular biologist I am not so good at chemistry :P I am describing a method I used in my project and I kinda got stuck on the following chemical reaction.

4-aminoantipyrine reacts with 4-hydroxybenzoic acid in presence of hydrogen peroxide and peroxidase to produce a quinoneimine dye.
Everything is clear, with exception to the structure of the product compound. I have searched the internet for an example of use of 4-hydroxybenzoic acid in the reaction without success. All I can find is the reactions with phenol.

4-aminoantipyrine:

Will the product look like A, B or C?
