Purifying Lead Carbonate
« on: April 24, 2016, 12:26:01 PM »
Using strict precautions I made lead carbonate for painting purposes using thin metal sheets, 20% vinegar, and yeast+sugar to generate CO2.

All went well except my lead carbonate has a slight pinkish tint to it, which I assume is lead oxide. Is there a simple way to separate out the lead oxide from the lead carbonate?

Thanks very much in advance. (Hopefully this is the correct sub-forum.

Lead oxide is pale yellow (PbO), orange red (Pb3O4) or black (PbO2)
