Mesomeric Structures
« on: December 10, 2016, 10:19:27 AM »
Hello everybody!

I would like to ask you for help with some mesomeric structures (drawn by me as, I think, good examples for practising). I'm a student and I have an exam in the near future (Tuesday) but I have problems with drawing mesomeric structures of "more complicated" straight-chain hydrocarbons, for instance: 1-nitro-1,3-butadiene. How do we do it step by step? How to deal with hydrocarbons in conjugated system with more substituents?
And which of the Cl-derivatives is the most active form? When I saw it for the first time I was thinking that it would be chlorobenzene but now I'm wondering - maybe this one is a little bit trickier?

Thank you in advance!
