No standard
Thanks, the concentration lectures were helpful, however, there still is no consistency.  Can't you chemists just decide to agree? ;)

I will repeat my earlier question - what precision do you need?

5%*(SG_solution - SG_H2O) would be acceptable.

That's understandable, but be assured it was accidental
I know, but I spend a fair amount of time creating what I thought was a well written post, and hadn't bothered saving a copy of it.  Oh well, to bigger and better things.

Thanks again for your help.

Can't you just figure it out experimentally, why do you need to calulate this from first principles?
Most Common Suggestions I Make on the Forums.
1. Start by writing a balanced chemical equation.
2. Don't confuse thermodynamic stability with chemical reactivity.
3. Forum Supports LaTex

Because I actually want to know the quantities of various compounds which will result in a given density, and thus there is nothing to experiment other than creating my own tables (don't want to do).  I felt that predicting density based on a given quantity would be easier than predicting the required quantities based on the given density.
