Silica gel column chromatography
« on: January 27, 2017, 07:28:54 PM »
If we were to perform a silica gel column chromatography and used a hexane/dichloromethane as the eluting solvent, would it be feasible to find hexane and dichloromethane residual peaks in the H NMR spectrum if we were to run the sample?

If you aren't drying your samples, I'm sure you'd find buckets of it in an NMR.

Also, I find hexane / DCM to be a strange combination. What sorts of samples would you use that for that more traditional mixes don't work with?
