What is the concentration of 2% starch?
« on: February 10, 2017, 08:35:07 PM »
I am doing a lab report that asks what the concentration of 2% starch is and I do not know how to answer. please help. I think it was a 5ml solution if that helps. I do not know how to solve so I cannot provide any work. I measured the weight of one drop of starch (0.038g)

what the concentration of 2% starch is

Please elaborate, as this question - as asked - doesn't make sense.

I could be wrong about this, but I was under the impression that starch is a polymer of variable length (therefore, variable mass).  If that is true, I don't see how one could easily express its concentration in terms of molarity or molality.

Average molecular weight is used.
