removal of oxazoline group
« on: April 04, 2017, 08:51:20 AM »
Hey there,
I have an oxazolie protected COOH group that I want to remove. So far, I was not able to hydrolyze it (60°C, H2O:MeOH, HCl) but just open the oxazoline ring to get hydroxyethylamide. Do you know any method that works under mild conditions? My compound is chiral and I would like to avoid excessive heating because I suspect it will racemize (its axialy chiral and after 3hrs reflux in toluene I get about 20% of racemization)
