White Mineral Oil (CAS#8042-47-5) Emulsion???
« on: September 25, 2017, 12:03:42 AM »
Hi guys,

This white oil is used in a plastic extruder machine and i want to get rid of the residue in the machine.
I have been trying to make a mineral oil (CAS#8042-47-5) emulsion and it did not seem to work.

Any suggestion would be really appreciated.

Best Regards

Its a little hard to follow you, some bits seem incomplete, but lets work together.

So, you're using white mineral oil as a lubricant?  What are you extruding?  It might be part of the problem.

Occasionally, people will quote CAS#.  It is almost meaningless, and feel that I have to remind people of that, before they expect more help from that, than they ought to.  We can't use the CAS# to determine properties, or grade, or impurities.  All it means is one manufacturers identity.

You want to make an emulsion.  Of your cleaning agent.  With what.  And why?  Maybe insted, you just want a solvent to wash it away?

Hey, I'm not judging.  I just like to shoot straight.  I'm a man of science.

My first thought was some solvent on a rag and a wipe. As you say though - a little more info might help.
Tonight I’m going to party like it’s on sale for $19.99!
