Anonymous Chemistry Bloggers
« on: June 02, 2006, 10:22:35 AM »
Here is the inside scoop on the strange and weird world of anonymous chemistry blogging. So, I first noticed anonymous chemistry blogging from http://totallysynthetic.com/blog. The given reason for anonymity, "Well, I’m not giving away my identity for fear of reprisals." Although, from what I've seen of his blog it looks reasonably "clean". At any rate I've figured out who he really is and will share his identity with my small limited audience. His name is **u* *****r**, that's my hint and you'll just have to figure out the rest yourself if you are so inclined. ;)

An other anonymous chemistry blogger can be found at Molecule of the Day, http://www.moleculeoftheday.com/. This one did a much better job of protecting their identity. But, he or she did mention to me that they may attend the ACS conference this fall in SF. If they do attend, you can count on me to try to get a photo to share with all of you.

Speaking of ACS SF... Joshua has confirmed he'll be there, http://blogs.nature.com/thescepticalchymist/2006/06/in_the_summertime.html#comment-12212. I'll do my best to get a photo with him too, and I'll post it when I take it. ACS SF will rock, if you can go to it this year you should. CF will be planning something (drinking maybe dinner) for it so stay tuned to this older entry, http://www.chemicalforums.com/index.php?topic=8908.0.

Most Common Suggestions I Make on the Forums.
1. Start by writing a balanced chemical equation.
2. Don't confuse thermodynamic stability with chemical reactivity.
3. Forum Supports LaTex

Yes, very good! I know how to use "whois" too, and how to search for my name. I'm not trying to hide, just remain somewhat reclusive; I work in a department where there's already enough bitching heated discussion - I don't need to take flak from those I work with!! I haven't said anything very controversial so far, but chemists can be somewhat tetchy! Also, I had no idea if the site was going to be a success - I'm glad it is!
Oh, BTW, it's "ch"

I don't see Mitch mentioned there. ;)

By the way, why did you remove the Tani-Stoltz blog entry, and is that a Guiness in your hand?
