PLGA is widely used for drug delivery for different advantage but PLA is also used. There are lot of advantages of PLGA over PLA. but still PLA is being used for drug delivery.

I have designed PLA based drug delivery. After designing I realized that PLGA also could be good option instead of PLA if I was asked why you pick PLA as hydrophobic polymer? Why not PLGA?

Anybody has any answer for this.
It will be great help if you can help.

Polylactic acid (PLA) is more hydrophobic than polyglycolic acid (PGLA or PGA), as having an additional methyl group in the monomer.
However, whether using polylactic acid (PLA), polyglycolic acid (PGLA or PGA) or polylactic acid/polyglycolic acid co-polymer (PLA/PGLA or PLA/PGA or PGLA), depends on the desired bioavailability, as well on the mechanical properties, the in vivo hydrolysis rate and the clearance rate of the biopolymer.
PS: Pay attention to the abbreviations, in order to avoid confusions.
