Hi guys, I need some help with Bates-Guggenheim convention. I know that it is an approximation of Debye-Hückel equation in which is assumed that the ion-size parameter is a0 = 4.46 Å. My book makes only an example with chloride and my question is if it is used only for this ion or I can use it for all type of electrolyte.

It is assumed that it is reasonably accurate for every ion in the solution.
