Location of suction damper of a blower
« on: December 13, 2018, 04:58:49 AM »
In a sulphuric acid DCDA process, blower delivers air at 25000Nm3/hr at 3000 mmWC.
Blower suction comprised of box filters, suction cone, damper, silensor, and blower suction.
I have a suggestion to relocate suction damper to blower suction following the silensor.
The concept is that swirls made by aerofoils of dampers are diminished by silensor's effect making it turbulent regime.
Shifting damper to immediate suction of blower will ensure streamline swirls in the directions of impeller rotations thus enhancing the throughput.
I have just conceptualized the situation and don't know any physical expression or equation to fortify my idea.
I want to know if my suggestion will work or it has no effect on throughput of blower.

Thank you
