I already calculated the pH of the solution of calcite in pure water and in equilibrium with the atmosphere (open system). The pH was 8.26. But now I need to calculate the concentration of HCl that must be added to this system to low the pH to 7.4. I know that I have to modify the charge balance, but I do not know how. Can somebody help me?

The only thing that will change the charge balance is the presence of Cl-.
