Hi all,
I am looking for all information about tetranitroxymethane :) C(ONO2)4 (C(NO3)4)
Because i haven't got found anything :(
Please *delete me* Ebook's, synthesis ...all of that...it could be in other languages  ::)

I haven't read about  tetranitroxymethane if it exist but every chemist know the basic synthesis of  Tris(hydroxymethyl)-nitromethane by Henry reaction:
CH3-NO2 + 3CH2O --> (HOCH2)3C-NO2
If some further do nitration this compound then may be obtained it's trinitrate ester and this compound which is C-nitro-trinitrate :)

Oh, probably you mean erithol tetranitrate for  tetranitroxymethane.. Well the only think i can tell you about this compound is it's also used in pharmacy for treatment of angina similar to glycerol trinitrate ;)

I have heared from my friend about tetranitroxymethane so... maybe it can be erithol tetranitrate but what is his exemplar? I need this infos for theory to have interesting detail for chemical my instructor :P

In fact C(NO2)4 does exist and chemically it's commonly obtained by nitration of acetic anhydride...I can't give much comments because of forum rules for not detail debating explosive synthesis :) If you are more detail interested just google it ;)
As a chemical this is really interesting compound with four NO2 to a single carbon. May be my colegues with much knowldedge in quant chemistry could give interesting structure-property relations this handsome molecule and it's relations with others :)

about C(NO2)4 I know lots but nothing about C(NO3)4 :P
