Censorship
« on: July 22, 2006, 12:21:24 AM »
I just discovered that chemicalforums has a censorship feature in place!  Being a family-friendly forum as it is, that's a good call.  It's never come up, it's hard to put swearing in chemistry discussions.  But I wanted to see if I could send myself a personal message, and used a couple expletives...turns out, the forum censors them automatically!

I wonder if this thread is going to get deleted.  Let the Forum testing begin :D

Yeah I noticed that while previewing a reply (before I posted it).

It seems the chemistry feeds on the right don't get censored. :(

"Wa-s#*$ laundry ball" is what one of the titles for the feeds should look like, for example.

"Say you're in a [chemical] plant and there's a snake on the floor. What are you going to do? Call a consultant? Get a meeting together to talk about which color is the snake? Employees should do one thing: walk over there and you step on the friggin snake." - Jean-Pierre Garnier, CEO of Glaxosmithkline, June 2006
