1.How would I predict the sign of delta H and delta S when the electrolysis of molten sodium chloride when electrical energy is supplied? How would temperature influence the direction of this reaction?
NaCl (l) ---> Na(l) + .5 Cl2(g)
The only thing i can predict is that delta H and delta S will be positive because it requires an extensive amount of energy to go from liquid to solid, and that increasing the temperature will cause the reaction to go in the reverse direction does this make sense?
