Rate of reaction?

Hello, all. I am doing an experiment testing the rate of H2O2 decomposition by measuring volume of O2 formed in the reaction.

The decomposition equation looks like this:

H2O2  :rarrow: H2O + 1/2O2

I have calculated the rates already for the production of oxygen, but would I have to double these values to get the rate of decomposition for H2O2, as it is hydrogen peroxide and oxygen is in a 2:1 ratio?

I don't think it is doubled, it might get halved. Can you show your math?

No, it's doubled. Decomposing one mole of H2O2 gives half a mole of O2, so d[O2]/dt = -1/2*d[H2O2]/dt
