Electrolytes

(1/1)

Justinyang4127:
How many of the following substances would be considered electrolytes?
MgCl2(aq), C2H5OH(aq), C12H22O11 (l), MgCl2(l), HCl(g) HCl(aq)
Is an electrolyte ONLY considered to be one when dissolved in water (aqueous)?

mjc123:
You can have non-aqueous electrolytes.

AWK:
I'm afraid you will not find a liquid compound with the formula C12H22O11. Different sugars that immediately come to mind are decomposed before melting.

Even in Wikipedia, you can find quite interesting information about ionic liquids.
