Hi!

I've a little doubt about this mecanism regarding 1,4 addition:



After the 1,4 addition I should have :
Cu⁺
MgBrCl
...and the carbonyl compound

And the counter ion of the negative charged ocygen should be the charged Cu⁺

Why  does  happen  the reaction:
Cu⁺ + MgBrCl ----> MgBr⁺ + CuCl

And MgBr⁺ is the  oxygen counter ion instead of Cu⁺??
