Can 1H NMR be used to study of transition metal complexes
« on: July 14, 2022, 07:01:20 AM »
I had a Schiff base ligand and prepared metal complexes of that using Co(II) chloride hexahydrate, Iron(III) chloride hexahydrate, and Ni(II) nitrate hexahydrate. I used 1HNMR to study the difference between them and maybe get some information about the structure of the formed complexes. the results showed a slight upfield shift in almost every peak and the appearance of some new peaks, which is a bit ambiguous for me, and I don't know how to interpret them! I'd appreciate any reply
