Stoichiometry
« on: December 22, 2007, 07:50:09 PM »
Hi guys, can someone tell me if I did the ff. setup correctly?

How many grams of water are liberated by the complete decomposition of 100g of copper (II) sulfate pentahydrate?

CuSO4.5H2O ----> CuSO4 + 5H2O

100g CuSO4.5H2O (1 mol CuSO4.5H2O / 250g CuSO4.5H2O) (5 mol H2O / 1 mol CuSO4.5H2O) (90g H2O / 1 mol H2O)

Thanks!

The method is correct. Your molecular weight for water is incorrect though.
