Molarity of KMnO4 in redox reaction
« on: November 01, 2008, 06:39:22 PM »
I need to find the molarity of KMnO4 with the given information of 26.23 mL of KMnO4 solution and 1.041 g FAS (used in redox titration). I don't know the equation so I can't find the mole-to-mole ratio of the two compounds. Can any one show me their work? Any help is appreciated.

Do you know what FAS stands for?

Yeah, ferrous ammonium sulfate hexahydrate, which is FeSO4 (NH4)2 SO4 6H2O

but I don't know what the product side is going to be like.

Permanganate gets reduced to Mn2+, iron gets oxidized.
