If I put NaCl, table salt, in a saturated solution of water, it will dissociate 100% into Na+ and Cl- cations and anions, respectively. If I then put in a sheet of aluminum foil, a great conductor of electricity, what will happen? Will the Aluminum become positive, negative or remain neutral? If it stays neutral, can I put anything else in there to get the Aluminum to become charged?
If you're curious, it's for a school project I might do.
