Hey guys.
My research here at MUN involves Pb uptake in a protein-mineral composite. The protein I'm using is collagen, as the lab has an amazing abundance of it in the fridge. But anyway, I've been attempting some fibril formation, and experimenting with different methods to form fibrils. Any suggestions from the board?
I've used two methods thus far:
-Cold start with 1mg/mL collagen and a buffer solution of NaCl/Na2HPO4, followed by incubation in a warm-water bath overnight.
-With 3mg/mL collagen and a buffer of NaOH/CaCl2, prepared at room temperature, and then placed in the warm water bath overnight.
