my professor said that when you want to calculate J BTW two vicinal hydrogen, if the rotation of the bond was fast the dominant form for calculating J is eclipsed form but if the rotation was slow the dominant form is staggered form. I just don't understand what the reason is ???
every answer will be appreciated. :)

I just don't understand what's the relationship between these conformers and calculating J, may be carpals works here?
