The making of AgNps

I have been experimenting with different reducing agents when making AgNps and have been quite comfortable with Na2CO3 (sodium carbonate). I use AgNO3 as my supply of Ag-ions. I use polyphenols from natural sources as a stabilizer.

This is what I understand so far:
First, Ag2CO3 is formed by combining of a carbonate ion and silver ions. Second, silver ions were reduced to metal because the carbonate ion was hydrolyzed and trans- formed into hydroxyl ions. As a result, the suspension would gradually become dark in color.

My question is: what happens to the nitrate ion? Is sodium nitrate formed or is the nitrate ion free. I also use polyphenols from natural sources to stabilize these AgNps. Do these have an effect on Nitrate ions that are left over from the reaction?

Nitrate is swimming inn solution together with sodium. There no interaction.

If the nitrate ions are swimming freely in the solution (H2O), when ingested, what reactions would occur with the stomach acids (HCI, KCl, and NaCl)? There would be about 5mg of nitrates being ingested in our proposed reaction.

I am curious of any potential toxic effects of nitrate ions, compared to sodium nitrates found in foods, and whether these AgNp formulas are toxic when ingested, concerning nitrates and whether or not they compound with other elements.

The HCl lowers the pH. NaCl or KCl do nothing.  But why should be Nitrate in the stomach? Only if it is already somewhere in the food. Some Nitrite is used to show meat is still fresh red and bloody and not grey and old. This maybe can have some oxidation to Nitrate. But everybody eat it.

The nitrate in the stomach would come from ingestion of the solution with nitrate ions left over from reaction of the AgNps.

What  is AgNPS. And who want to have Silver....what ever in the stomach?

AgNps are silver nanoparticles suspended in water. They are currently becoming very popular in the health industry with their anti-microbial effects on the human body.

Understood, the use silver acetate instead of the nitrate. Vinegar in stomach should be no problem.
