essential oil smells surpression
« on: November 23, 2013, 11:14:39 PM »
I'm working on this experiment that uses essential oil (clove oil) as one of the chemicals. It releases overwhelming smell that I'm trying to get rid of. Of course, once the experiment is done, closing the bottles, and cleaning up does remove the smell, but what I'm more interested in is how to suppress / mask it during the experiment itself. Also, fume hood is out of the question.

I'm wondering if there is any chemical i can add to the mixture to mask it? or, i don't know, burn candle to "burn" the scents (it doesn't work so far, unless you guys have a suggestion of a special candle that does that)

thank you in advanced for the helps.

Most results in found in google is the reverse of what i needed.
Generally, people uses essential oil to suppress bad odors, what i need to do is suppress essential oil smell itself.

As far as I am aware ventilation is the only sure way.
