Hyamine Reacts with...
« on: March 25, 2014, 03:31:24 PM »
Hi All,

anionic surfactant is titrated with Hyamine to estimate active matter in detergents. what other material can be added instead of anionic surfactant but still gives same end point as titrated against anionic surfactant.

basically hyamine reacts with which other chemical other than anionic surfactants...

tks

regards, Prasad

Well, the titration against hyamine isn't so much a reaction, but a partitioning between an aqueous phase and a solvent phases.  So I don't think anything will cause the titration endpoint except for another anionic surfactant.

In other news ... whee ... something I did at work today shows up on the Chemical Forums.  Somehow that's ridiculously entertaining to me.
Hey, I'm not judging.  I just like to shoot straight.  I'm a man of science.
