Polyiodide complex
« on: April 29, 2015, 04:48:06 PM »
Hi

I have synthesized a polyiodide complex and titrated it with sodium thiosulfate
x I2 + (NMe4)I --> (NMe4)I(2x-1)

I2 + 2S2O3^2- --> 2I- + S4O6^2-

I used 0.2g of the compund in the titration and I have worked out the moles of iodine used in the titration= 5.5x10^-4 mol.

Does anyone know how to calculate x?

Not enough information.
